Was bedeutet Vintage?
Vintage-Sonnenbrillen und –Brillen sind Originale der vergangenen Tage (50er bis 90er Jahre), deren „Look“ jetzt wieder aktuell und gefragt ist, und die als Accessoire zur heutigen, sich oft an früheren Zeiten orientierenden Mode getragen werden.
Eine verlässliche Quelle sind auf Vintage-Brillen spezialisierte Optiker und Shops, die Zugang zu alten Lagerbeständen haben, oft selbst leidenschaftliche Sammler, wie Karl-Heinz Wilke, von Originalprodukten sind und über das nötige Fachwissen verfügen. Wilkes „Original Vintage“ sind fabrikneue Brillen, garantiert ungetragen und stammen aus alten Lagerbeständen einer Manufaktur oder Fabrik sowie geschlossenen Optik-Geschäften.
Die Brillen zeichnen sich oft durch besonders schöne, heute nicht mehr erhältliche Kunststoffmaterialien, sorgfältige Verarbeitung sowie liebevolle Details wie aufwendige Ziernieten, Strassbesatz, Golddekor oder sogar Golddoublé und Gold.
Metallbrillen sind Zeugen der erstklassigen Galvanik vergangener Zeiten. Sie sind oft noch „gold-filled“ (d.h. der Edelmetallanteil ist bereits im Brillenmaterial eingearbeitet) oder Golddoublé in 12 oder 20 Karat und nicht nur „gold-plated“. Und sie zeigen bei richtiger Lagerung auch nach vielen Jahren noch keine Anzeichen von Korrosion.
Original Vintage-Modelle aus dem Brillenhaus Wilke wurden in Manufakturen oder kleineren Handwerksbetrieben in mühevoller Handarbeit hergestellt. So entstanden oft Nischenprodukte mit Kultstatus, deren Wert und Zauber mit ihren berühmten Trägern zusammenhing: John Lennon, David Bowie, Yoko Ono und viele andere Berühmtheiten wie Jackie O., Woody Allen oder Andy Warhol wurden Trendsetter in Brillen.
Aufgrund einer steigenden Nachfrage nach Vintage-Produkten werden zunehmend neugemachte, günstig hergestellte Brillen als „Vintage“ angeboten. Hier wäre eigentlich die Bezeichnung „Vintage- oder Retro-Look“ korrekt. Ab den 90ern wurden Brillen mit dem Aufdruck „CE“ am Bügel gekennzeichnet – diese sind nicht echtes Vintage sondern eine Neuauflage des Originals oder schlichtweg ein Nachbau.

Die Magie von Vintage
Was bedeutet Vintage?
Vintage-Sonnenbrillen und –Brillen sind Originale der vergangenen Tage (50er bis 90er Jahre), deren „Look“ jetzt wieder aktuell und gefragt ist, und die als Accessoire zur heutigen, sich oft an früheren Zeiten orientierenden Mode getragen werden.
Eine verlässliche Quelle sind auf Vintage-Brillen spezialisierte Optiker und Shops, die Zugang zu alten Lagerbeständen haben, oft selbst leidenschaftliche Sammler, wie Karl-Heinz Wilke, von Originalprodukten sind und über das nötige Fachwissen verfügen. Wilkes „Original Vintage“ sind fabrikneue Brillen, garantiert ungetragen und stammen aus alten Lagerbeständen einer Manufaktur oder Fabrik sowie geschlossenen Optik-Geschäften.
Die Brillen zeichnen sich oft durch besonders schöne, heute nicht mehr erhältliche Kunststoffmaterialien, sorgfältige Verarbeitung sowie liebevolle Details wie aufwendige Ziernieten, Strassbesatz, Golddekor oder sogar Golddoublé und Gold.
Metallbrillen sind Zeugen der erstklassigen Galvanik vergangener Zeiten. Sie sind oft noch „gold-filled“ (d.h. der Edelmetallanteil ist bereits im Brillenmaterial eingearbeitet) oder Golddoublé in 12 oder 20 Karat und nicht nur „gold-plated“. Und sie zeigen bei richtiger Lagerung auch nach vielen Jahren noch keine Anzeichen von Korrosion.
Original Vintage-Modelle aus dem Brillenhaus Wilke wurden in Manufakturen oder kleineren Handwerksbetrieben in mühevoller Handarbeit hergestellt. So entstanden oft Nischenprodukte mit Kultstatus, deren Wert und Zauber mit ihren berühmten Trägern zusammenhing: John Lennon, David Bowie, Yoko Ono und viele andere Berühmtheiten wie Jackie O., Woody Allen oder Andy Warhol wurden Trendsetter in Brillen.
Aufgrund einer steigenden Nachfrage nach Vintage-Produkten werden zunehmend neugemachte, günstig hergestellte Brillen als „Vintage“ angeboten. Hier wäre eigentlich die Bezeichnung „Vintage- oder Retro-Look“ korrekt. Ab den 90ern wurden Brillen mit dem Aufdruck „CE“ am Bügel gekennzeichnet – diese sind nicht echtes Vintage sondern eine Neuauflage des Originals oder schlichtweg ein Nachbau.
